FAQs on Jet
Charter
What is Piston
Engined?
Smaller aeroplanes such as the Piper Seneca have
two piston engines that do not produce the power
of a jet turbine. They are the most economical,
but are generally unpressurised and cannot fly high
enough to avoid bad weather.
Why
use a Turboprop?
A Turboprop is a propeller aeroplane that is powered
by a jet engine, rather than a piston engine. It
is generally bigger and faster than a piston powered
machine, but not as fast as a pure jet. Turboprops
fly at lower speeds than jets and therefore have
a better short field performance, useful for landing
in the mountains for instance. Over short distances
are almost as fast as jets. They are generally pressurised.

Can we fly into City Airport?
Because of the steep approach to City Airport, aircraft
and crews have to be especially qualified to land
there. We can advise on this.
Why pay for a Jet?
Jets are generally more expensive, but fly faster
and can easily climb over bad weather.
